Powershell module installation

First step of a Powershell module installation is to copying its folder to one of folders designated for Powershell modules.

By default, these folders can be used:
  • %UserProfile%\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Modules (or %UserProfile%\My Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Modules)
  • %windir%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\Modules

DynamicsAxCommunity module is contained in DynamicsAxCommunity folder, therefore the final path can be, for example, %UserProfile%\Documents\WindowsPowerShell\Modules\DynamicsAxCommunity.

When a module is in place, it may be imported to any Powershell session by calling Import-Module DynamicsAxCommunity -DisableNameChecking. Alternatively, modules in any location can be referred by full path (e.g. Import-Module "c:\Modules\DynamicsAxCommunity" -DisableNameChecking).

Place the command to a profile file if you want the module to be imported to all Powershell sessions.
